Hi! I’m Sarah, Licensed Therapist & Yoga Teacher.
As a therapist, I believe that healing begins with connection and someone who listens with empathy, acknowledges the complexity of emotions, and understands the courage it takes to show up and be seen. By allowing space for vulnerability, honesty, and imperfection—on both sides of the relationship—I strive to create an environment where you feel safe, accepted, and understood. Therapy isn’t about being “fixed” by an expert; it’s about being supported by someone who walks alongside you with compassion and authenticity. When we can be human together, real healing can happen.

Approach to Therapy
My primary approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based, person-centered theories. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients improve psychological flexibility and increase self compassion. Relational Therapy is also integrated into counseling sessions to explore how past and present relationships affect emotional wellbeing, while Solution Focused techniques to help clients move toward meaningful change.
Additionally, I specialize in trauma-informed approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Mindfulness Based techniques to support healing, with a focus on integrating body and mind.
I believe that healing is a journey—whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking for support in creating a more fulfilling life, I’m here to walk alongside you with curiosity and compassion and effective tools for growth.

Outside the Therapy Office
I’m a proud dog mom to three dogs, Willow, Murphy, and Boone. I enjoy yoga- so much so that I teach regularly here in Knoxville! I incorporate many yoga practices and mindfulness techniques into therapy sessions. I love exploring new places around town, crocheting, and diving into some self-help books. In my extra free time, I am spending it with my husband, at home, and curled up with a blanket. A fun fact is that I was raised in Colorado, hence the name, Elevated Counseling.
