Fees for Therapy & Counseling
Accessible and affordable mental health care. I accept several major insurance companies, self pay, and sliding scale options. Whether you’re seeking support for anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or simply need a space to process and be heard, I’m committed to making therapy more reachable and inclusive for all.
Insurance & Self Pay Options
Individual therapy and EMDR sessions range from 53-60 minutes. I accept BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, UHC, UMR, and Optum insurance or self pay at $150/ session. Payment can be made via cash, debit, credit, or HSA card. If I am not in-network with your insurance company, I am happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you’re using insurance, you may be responsible for a co-pay—this is the portion of the session fee that your insurance company asks you to pay out of pocket, similar to what you might pay at a medical appointment. The rest is typically covered by your plan. You may also have a deductible plan, in which case you must meet a set amount out of pocket before insurance kicks in.
I also understand that not everyone has insurance or the ability to pay full fees out of pocket. That’s why I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we can talk about what works best for your situation.
*Please note that payment is expected at time of service and a credit card must be provided prior to initiating services.
Cancellation Policy
Therapy is a commitment—to yourself, your growth, and your well-being. When we schedule a session, that time is set aside specifically for you. When cancellations happen without enough notice, I am unable to offer that time to anyone else. Because of this, I have a 24-hour cancellation policy in place.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments (no-shows), will be charged the full session fee.
For clients using insurance, please note: the charge for a late cancellation or missed session is not your co-pay. It is the full session rate that your insurance typically reimburses. Insurance companies do not cover fees for late cancellations or no-shows, so this amount becomes your responsibility.
I understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances happen. While I do my best to be flexible when appropriate, this policy helps maintain the structure of my practice and ensures I can continue to provide consistent, reliable care to all of my clients. It also supports the therapeutic process by encouraging regular attendance and honoring the time we commit to your healing work.
If you have any questions about this policy or need to talk through a specific situation, I’m always open to a conversation.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care [and mental health services] will cost.
Under the law, health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Good Faith Estimates are sent through our payment portal at time of service.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit https://www.tn.gov/commerce/blog/2022/1/12/the-no-surprises-act-will-protect-tennessee-consumers.html to learn more.
